Slip on your seamed stockings and opera gloves (real or just imaginary). Our burlesque hen party leads you through the glamorous world of burlesque-striptease. We will introduce you to the art of tease, tassel twirling and the famous bump ‘n’ grind.
Our burlesque parties are enjoyed by ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes – and sometimes the men-hens too.
Our teachers are professionally dance trained and have years of stage experience. We will take you on a whirlwind tour of burlesque in a secure, fun environment. Our burlesque hen party will make you feel sassy and confident. You’ll be transported into an alluring world filled with glamour and humour. Be prepared to realise your alter-ego – and take her partying afterwards!
Pose like a pin-up
No prior dance training is needed, as we begin with the basics and take it at your pace, with the emphasis on fun. You’ll pose like a pin-up and peel like a pro. You might even uncover aspects of your personality that burlesque will bring out in you! Regardless of your age, size, shape or dance ability, burlesque is for you!
A memorable two hours
Our burlesque hen party lasts two hours. You’ll create your burlesque name, and learn the art of posing (you’ll never pose for a holiday snap the same again!). You learn the art of the shimmy – top and bottom! You’ll learn sumptuous glove ‘peeling’ techniques. And – of course – the grand finale: nipple-tassel twirling. Tassels can be affixed over clothing. We teach technique and then incorporate it all into exciting and memorable burlesque dance routines.
What to wear
In terms of what to wear – anything goes! We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes as this is a movement-based class. However, dressing up is part of the fun, so go ahead and dress burlesque style if you fancy it. You might like to bring a pair of moderately high heels, as you will be slinking and strutting like a vintage movie star. Please don’t dance in bare feet though. We can’t guarantee the floors of function rooms are glass-free, no matter how much we sweep up before the class. Some groups really enter into the spirit of it and don corsets and frilly pants. Some groups are in leggings or jeans and T-shirts. Totally up to you! You don’t need to bring anything else, we supply all the props needed.
